This shade was designed to pick up the stripe from the walls and make use of the unusual ‘clover’ shape of the frame. Alternate panels of raw silk were stitched together before being stretched over the frame. I wanted to keep this shade without braid so I hand pleated silk strips round the edges, securing each fold as I went. To add a touch of drama and fill out the ‘clover’ shape  I made puffs of silk which were plumped into shape when the shade was installed.
