The extraordinarily large living room in this Mews House was an enormous space that was sadly never used. Our brief was to create a cosy and intimate space for entertaining guests.

We were agonising over what to do with our large square lounge space in our new house....the new build had been such a dramatic experience that we'd run out of energy and inspiration. The room has a wooden roof visible from inside, is tall and has lots of windows allowing daylight in. Kyle suggested several ideas as to colour, and then suggested vertical stripes painted onto the walls. We initially thought this was risible, but then painted a few stripes of varying width and colour variations on the walls, and eventually thought it was the most amazing idea ever. The stripes we have are 10" wide, in mushroom and off white, and the room looks absolutely stunning, as well as being cheerily elegant. Fantastic. One satisfied customer (or is that 2 ?).

This architecturally designed house has fabulous proportions and great light but was white and blank so we followed the structure of the roof onto the walls with bold stripes in neutral shades, creating a grand yet intimate space.
Later on we re-upholstered the chairs in this room, adding a deeper, richer yet still fresh element whilst playing on the stripe motif.
We then created two bespoke Lampshades to really bring the room to life. The first was simply designed to pick up the stripes from the walls in a subtle yet elegant way whilst the second was a much more extravagant affair inspired by an article in the Sunday Times. This Skirt Lampshade used the same colours as the walls and other shade but introduced drama and extravagance to the room.
